The fashion designer, once known best as Posh Spice, celebrated her 50th birthday this weekend in London at a swanky affair, where she was joined by her former Spice Girls bandmates Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisolm. The last time all five members of the Spice Girls performed together was in 2012 at the London Olympics opening ceremony. CNN —Victoria Beckham’s Paris Fashion Week show was disrupted by animal rights activists as they joined her models on the catwalk to protest her brand’s use of animal products such as leather. Protesters in white vests reading “turn your back on animal skins” and “animals aren’t fabric” walked along models on the runway on Friday, holding signs reading “Viva vegan leather,” before being escorted away by security. Animal rights group Peta said that although Beckham’s brand has banned the use of fur and exotic skins in its collections, it still uses leather, including calfskin. “No garment or accessory is worth violently slaughtering and skinning a sensitive and intelligent animal,” PETA Vice President for Europe Mimi Bekhechi said in a statement. CNN —Veteran British broadcaster Michael Parkinson has died at the age of 88, his former employer the BBC reported Thursday, citing a statement from his family. “After a brief illness Sir Michael Parkinson passed away peacefully at home last night in the company of his family,” the statement said, according to the BBC. Parkinson interviewed many of the world’s most famous people on his long-running show, which launched in 1971. Michael Parkinson interviewing actress Bette Davis in October 1975. Mirren and Parkinson appeared on another show together in 2008, the TV host told the BBC, and “laughed like two intelligent human beings.”

The fashion designer and former Spice Girl, also known as “Posh Spice,” serenaded a small room full of cheering friends – including her husband, soccer star David Beckham – with an iconic Spice Girls track, as seen in a video of the impromptu performance that she shared on her TikTok over the weekend. Microphone in hand, Beckham was seen singing the girl group’s hit 1996 track “Say You’ll be There” while dancing with husband David, who was also joyfully singing along to every word. The British girl group released their debut album “Spice” in 1996, and went on a hiatus in 2000 to pursue solo careers. The last time all five members of the Spice Girls performed together was in 2012 at the London Olympics opening ceremony.
